About Horsepower
Horsepower 4991 is a FIRST team that has been competing since 2013, based out of Chartiers Valley High School. Team members and dedicated mentors build, program, and finance a robot to compete against other teams from all over the world. Horsepower 4991 members have a vision and drive to bring the ideals of FIRST to the students in Chartiers Valley School District and to the community at large.

Horsepower is a non-profit organization that relies solely on funding from outside sources. All of the team’s sponsors are greatly appreciated and a huge part of what keeps the team going.
Reefscape 2025
Under the Sea! This year’s game challenges teams to place coral and remove algae from a reef!

Crescendo 2024
In 2024, our team had to “face the music” and create a robot that could score “notes” in multiple different ways. Together, the team created a robot that was able to pick up the notes from the ground and score them as well as climb to finish out the game.
