Steel City Showdown 2023

This year’s steel city showdown was hosted by Tim Angert at Girls of Steels practice facility. It was an exciting day-long event with 17 different robots including Ankle Biter. One of the most interesting participants were the Feiyue group all the way from China. There were 16 exhilarating rounds of qualifications where we competed in six of those. Finals started with five different alliance captains where 2614, Mars, had chosen us for first pick! Our alliance then consisted of 2614, Mars, 9991, which was FRobotics 2, and us. During double elimination, we played against Alliance Four in the first match and won! We then played three more matches and we celebrated a great victory heading into the finals. As alliance four, we went into finals against alliance one. The finals had an electrifying feel as through the real double elimination rules, alliance one needed to beat us twice to win finals and steel city showdown. Through the final rounds, we were very neck to neck with alliance one. We are thankful for MARS for choosing us to be in their alliance and we all had a great time competing!
